Preparing for a Changing Climate

Washinton State’s Integrated Climate Response Strategy (2012): Chapter 3- Observed Trends and Future Projections. Using 20 different climate models to explore two different greenhouse gas emissions scenarios results in a wide range of possible future climates for the Pacific Northwest. All the models indicate that this future climate will be warmer than the past and together, they suggest that Pacific Northwest warming rates will be greater in the 21st century than those observed in the 20th century.
